The Challenge
Hope becomes scared when food runs out. This is a situation often seen in developing countries where people are left to starve due to government corruption, natural disasters, war, diseases, and poverty. Over the last three years, conflict and climate change have caused food insecurity to increase every year. Farmers struggle to grow the food they need for themselves and to sell for others to eat. Being hungry impacts everything in people’s lives. When families can’t cover their basic needs, they struggle to find a way out of poverty. Hungry children don’t do as well in school — if they are able to attend at all.
Delano King Foundation Hunger Relief program supplies food and nutritional supplements to children and families facing food insecurity. Local volunteers make personal deliveries, making every dollar count. As an independent program, Hunger Relief supports children and families in desperate need of food. As one of our most successful programs, your contributions have funded thousands of hungry children and hundreds of families each year. With the help of our generous donors, we’re responding in the hardest-hit counties, aiming to reach many less fortunate children and families. This goal is ambitious, but we know it’s achievable with your help.
Helping Children & Families
Survive a Crisis
When disasters happen, whether natural or manmade, we want children and families to have access to food, clean water, and shelter. We are committed to protecting the vulnerable from physical disease, injury, disruption of education, separation from families, trafficking, and exploitation.
Our Effort
Delano King Foundation shares God’s promise in Psalm 34:18 with people who have endured unthinkable trauma—victims of civil war, survivors of the Ebola epidemic, and those who lost loved ones to COVID-19. But those who survive are left grieving and suffer emotional and post-traumatic stress that can only be healed through the power of Jesus Christ. Against this backdrop, our team works tirelessly to restore hope to poor and vulnerable families by giving alms to each individual which included food, spiritual support, and other essential items.
Love Your Neighbor
In the Book of Mark 12:31, Jesus instructed us to Love our neighbors, and that includes Muslims and people of different faith, culture, and race. To help make the 2022 Ramadan special for the poor and underprivileged Muslims who don’t have the luxury to celebrate, the Delano King Foundation donates rice to Logan Town and the Lonestar Central Mosque in Liberia.
